Closing out 2023 I can’t help reflecting on the past and getting a little nostalgic.
It’s hard to believe it’s been three decades since the start of Serious Skincare.
Way back then, in the early 1990’s SSC literally (and figuratively) changed the face of skin care by revolutionizing the way adult-onset acne was approached.
It all started when Jennifer Flavin (now Jennifer Flavin-Stallone) a young model struggling with acne was losing jobs due to unpredictable and uncontrollable breakouts. After trying everything available from doctors to drugstores, she stumbled upon a humble skin clinic called Serious Skincare in Santa Cruz, California-and as good luck would have it, this changed everything. For the first time ever, Jennifer was introduced to a simplified approach that not only cleared her skin of active breakouts, it prevented new acne from appearing. But perhaps best of all, these products didn’t over-dry and suck the life out of her skin like so many medications and harsh topicals had done in the past. Months past and to Jennifer’s surprise, her skin remained continuously clear…clear from breakouts, clear from dryness, even clear from fine lines and wrinkles. Knowing she had discovered something very special and unique, Jennifer felt she had to share. A partnership was formed, the Continuously Clear line of adult acne products were produced, and Serious Skincare started selling across America. And our stand-out product within the Continuously Clear line? The DRY-LO of course! I just had to give a quick shout-out to the original overnight zit-zapper. This 'every-home-must-have-one-in-the-medicine-cabinet' essential can reverse-course on the once-a-month pimple, to the very worst breakouts.
